COVID-19 Rapid Mortality Surveillance (CRMS) products

We have worked with Vital Strategies, the World Health Organization and other international partners to create a software tool that facilitates rapid mortality surveillance for COVID-19 mortality. This is designed to be used with the Technical Package shown here, which can be downloaded in PDF format.

The accompanying CRMS software, for processing COVID-19 Rapid Mortality Surveillance data, version 1.0 (released 15th May 2020), can be downloaded here

The download is a zip file, which should be unpacked into a folder on your computer. One of the files in the download is a user guide in PDF format, called crms_v1_UG.pdf, which describes how to use the software and how to interpret the output.

All matters related to COVID-19 are under continuous development, and we will post any updates to the CRMS tool here as may be needed.

Disclaimer: It is a condition of downloading and using the InterVA-5 software that users take complete responsibility for its use and for any consequences arising. In particular, it should be emphasised that the model is designed to enable the epidemiological interpretation of whole-community mortality data, and should not be applied to investigations of individual deaths.
